This one is the winners and runners up of the T.A.J.J.A .1965 Open Championship held in the old rollenmills canteen where Alf started his Judo under Eric Delaney. In the middle back row in the track suit is a former member of the british squad B.J.A. Brian Cloins. He used to always break his two little toes when performing front foot sweep, so he had them amputated to make him faster on the mat

This was a club exhibition at Waltham Cross fete, with the combined clubs of the rollenmill J.C. and the tottenham J.C. I think is was about 1963-64 time

Okay I was going through some of my old judo photos and found these ones of Adam Teal and myself (many years younger). Brings back memories. I think these were from the 80's.

BTW the ref wasn't calling ippon but yusai gachi. hehe, well it makes me feel better about losing.
